How to get a diagnosis in Australia. Part 1. Interview with Dr. Jacinta Thomson

The ADHD MUMS podcast is a safe place where Aussie Mums with relatable stories can discuss their struggles with ADHD, motherhood and life. In this episode Jane McFadden interviews Dr. Jacinta Thomson who is a clinical psychologist and has a PhD in clinical neuropsychology. Jacinta concisely and clearly maps out the pathways available for adults to be diagnosed with ADHD in Australia. Jacinta is also an Australian mother to two children under four years old who has been diagnosed with both ADHD and ASD and speaks from her own perspective as well as a professional one. Jacinta is very passionate about supporting adults from their early stages of querying their neurodivergence to providing formal diagnostic evaluations and reports, and supporting them through strengths-based therapy and coaching programs to pursue their most meaningful lives.  She has a special interest in supporting adults with ADHD and ASD, and especially women and people with more “internalising” or “high-masking” subtypes.
